When a manufacturing client who is from Germany approached us with a bold vision to convert their aging factory into an immersive trampoline park, we recognized more than just a business opportunity—we saw a chance to reimagine urban spaces.
The Challenge: When Zoning Laws Clash with Innovation
The client's industrial-zoned property seemed perfect for transformation: 300sqm which is very suitable for the trampoline park. The ceiling height 6M net height under the beam with robust infrastructure, and a prime location near residential neighborhoods. But city planners swiftly rejected the proposal. The reason? Insufficient parking—a common hurdle for urban recreational projects.
Reframing the Problem: Collaboration Over Confrontation
Our team brainstormed innovative solutions and proposed a game-changing strategy for the client: Why not turn nearby underutilized spaces into equity partners?
Once we'd identified the owners of these underutilized spaces. We stepped into the negotiation arena, chatting with the parking area operators. We painted a vivid picture of the future, where their empty lots would become bustling hubs of activity. We talked about the steady stream of trampoline park visitors who'd need parking, and how this partnership could be a game - changer for all of us. In the end, our efforts paid off! We managed to convince three of these operators to come on board as shareholder partners. Ultimately, our project successfully passed the government's approval!
